Class Drops

Horses dropping from a tougher condition into an easier one.

A class drop is often the single highest-percentage angle in harness racing. The horse was facing better and is now facing worse. Trainer intent matters too — barns drop horses to win.

The trap: figure regression. A horse that ran a 78 against open company isn't going to run a 78 every week. Pair class drops with a sober figure read.
