Pacers

Standardbreds that race at the pace — lateral gait.

Pacers are the bigger handle. They're faster, they break less, and the figures are more reliable. Most North American harness handle is on pacers.

The handicapping is more figure-driven than for trotters, which is exactly where trip-adjusted speed figures pay rent.
